Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a highly regarded and established firm of chartered accountants in Waterlooville who are looking for an Accounts Manager to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to join a leading independent firm of chartered accountants in Waterlooville where you’ll play a key role in the continued success and growth of the business.

As an Accounts Manager, your role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of clients which will include a mix of small-medium limited companies, sole traders and partnerships from a wide array of business sectors.

You will act as the primary point of contact for your clients and will have responsibility for ensuring that all associated work for them is completed accurately and efficiently.

Aside from the client management aspect of the role, you will be responsible for managing and assisting in the development of junior staff which will include providing support to them where necessary and reviewing their work.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA / ACA Qualified with strong and varied general practice experience. Excellent communication skills are imperative for this role as it is key that you can build and maintain a successful working relationship with multiple clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Managing a portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for ensuring their accounts, corporate tax & VAT returns and any ad-hoc reporting is prepared to a high standard and on a timely basis

Work with the clients directly to understand the requirements, and identifying areas where more detailed advice may be required

Identify opportunities for any additional services that clients may need and liaise with subject specialists

Responding to HMRC enquiries

Reviewing work prepared by accounts associates/trainees

Developing and appraising junior members of the team

Make billing decisions for client portfolio

Skills:

ACCA / ACA Qualified

Experience in reviewing accounts
