Our client is a well-established firm of accountants based in Halesworth, Norfolk, providing high-quality tax and accounting services to a diverse client base.
Job Description:
The firm are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Personal Tax Senior or Assistant Manager to join our professional team.
The role will be compliance-focused, ensuring that all tax filings meet statutory requirements while providing proactive tax advice where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Compliance & Reporting: Prepare and review Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals, landlords, sole traders, company directors, and high-net-worth clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations.
• Client Management: Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, providing clear and professional tax advice while maintaining excellent client relationships.
• Technical Expertise: Stay up to date with UK tax legislation, ensuring that all tax filings comply with the latest HMRC guidance.
• HMRC Liaison: Handle HMRC enquiries, disclosures, and investigations on behalf of clients, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
• Tax Planning Support: Identify areas for tax efficiencies and risk mitigation, advising clients on best practices within the bounds of UK tax law.
• Process Improvement: Assist in developing and streamlining tax compliance processes within the firm to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience:
• ATT qualified, CTA-qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a personal tax compliance role within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation, including income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and property tax.
• Experience dealing with HMRC correspondence, compliance checks, and tax return submissions.
• Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous approach to detail and compliance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to clients.
